Well over two million Guatemalans reside in the US

According to Guatemala's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at least 2,178,219 Guatemalans live in the United States. Guatemala's current population is roughly sixteen million.

Approximately half of those Guatemalans living in the US reside in California. Texas comes in a distant second place with 120,000, followed by New York (93,759) and Florida (90,000) in third and fourth places. Over 22,000 Guatemalans living in my "new" home state of Pennsylvania.

According to Prensa Latina, the estimates include only those Guatemalans who have made their presence known to its consular officers or the US government.
