Bates County Sheriffs Office: Search warrant served in Amoret

Around 3 p.m. on 6/26/15, Deputies from the Bates County Sheriff's Office and Agents from the CNET Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on County Road 4502 in Amoret, MO. This search warrant was executed from the results of a long term narcotics investigation by CNET. During the execution of the search warrant, Deputies seized items related to the use and distribution of methamphetamines that included drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. There were 5 adult subjects at the residence that Deputies took into custody and placed on a 24 hour investigative hold.

During the execution of the search warrant, Bates County Sheriff's Office Deputies also responded to a secondary residence located on Madison St in Amoret, MO. The suspect of the search warrant was also known to reside at this location. Deputies were given consent to search the house by subjects who live at this location. At this residence, Deputies also seized items that were related to the use and distribution of methamphetamines.

Later that evening Ernest Schmidt, who resides where the search warrant was executed, was taken into custody at the Bates County Sheriff's Office lobby. Schmidt had an outstanding warrant from Butler Police Department for failure to appear, bond was $27.50. Warrants were issued from Bates County on 2 counts of distribution of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, bond was set at $50,000.00 cash or surety.

Chasiety L Wisdom, of Amoret,MO was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Butler Police Department for failure to appear, bond was $20 cash.

Charges on the three other subjects are being reviewed by the Bates County Prosecutors Office.
