Morning accident near Butler claims life of Rich Hill woman

The scene earlier today on the I-49/52 overpass on the west edge of Butler. 66 year old Linda Williams of Rich Hill died at the scene as the result of her injuries.
Around 10:30 this morning a two vehicle accident on the I-49 and 52 highway overpass claimed the life of 66 year old Linda Williams of Rich Hill. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Williams was a passenger in a 2010 Honda driven by Tina L. Redman-Dressen, also of Rich Hill, that collided with a 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by Casey L. Heiman, 22, of Butler.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by Bates County Coroner Gary Schowengerdt.

The Butler Fire Department dispatched additional personnel due to an anhydrous ammonia tank, pulled by the Heiman vehicle, was overturned in the roadway. No leak of anhydrous was found.

It is being reported that Tina Redman-Dressen and Casey Heiman sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The Highway Patrol reports this to be the 20th fatality this year for Troop A, dispatched out of Lee's Summit.
