Nevada Police Department arrests suspect on Felony Theft and Drug Related Charges

The Nevada Police Department reports they have concluded an investigation in regards to a felony theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

On 7/24/15 an off-duty detective with the Nevada Police Department observed a known male subject walking down Austin Blvd with what appeared to be property belonging to a store located in the 2200 block of E Lincoln Ave. Officers were dispatched to the area but had negative contact in locating the suspect at that time. 

Earlier in the day officers were dispatched back to the business located in the 2200 block of E Lincoln Ave. It was determined that the subject in question had made multiple trips to the business and had taken a felony amount of property from the business. 

Officers continued to investigate the incident and on 7/26/15 an officer with the Nevada Police Department went back to the business in order to obtain surveillance video of the thefts. During this time the same subject involved in the thefts was once again inside the store and found to be in possession of more stolen items. 

It has been discovered through the course of the investigation that the person of interest had been trespassed from the business already due to previous theft reports. 

Nevada Police Officers made contact with the subject and he was taken into custody. At that time officers made a discovery that the subject had in his possession multiple items that are commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine's. Officers believed that the subject was attempting to steal the items in order to produce a controlled substance. 

Officers were able to recover some of the stolen property and it was returned to the business.

The suspect, a 40 year old Nevada resident identified as Timothy Roark was charged by the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court with the following charges;

Trespassing 1st degree, misdemeanor,  Theft/stealing, felony, and Deliver/sell, possess with intent to deliver/sell, manufacture with the intent to deliver/sell drug paraphernalia.

The suspect’s bond is set at $11,000 cash only. Citizens are encouraged to contact the police if they have any information that would be helpful to combat crime.
