Advocacy Corner: BRIDGE Act to Protect DACA Students
Through the University of Scranton’s Advocacy Corner, join with Jesuit and Catholic Organizations to Support the Bridge Act to Protect DACA youth/undocumented students.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Justice for Immigrants program is urging support for the BRIDGE Act (Bar Removal of Individuals who Dream and Grow our Economy Act), which would extend the DACA Executive Order protections to current student recipients.
The Bridge Act will afford students benefits to more easily attend college and give them work authorization. This legislation would be a step towards comprehensive immigration reform to support the parents of these students and non-DACA eligible young adults. Visit the Advocacy Corner for background information and advocacy guidance.
The Advocacy Corner initiative is a project of the Office of Community and Government Relations, The Office of Campus Ministries, and the Education for Justice program (of which I am the coordinator) together with Catholic and Jesuit organizations and higher education associations.
