St.Clair County Sheriffs Office: Update Felony Arrest

Curtis Sartin
On July 20, Curtis Sartin, 52, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance and a class D felony of resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person. Bond is set at $30,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from an incident on April 6, when Sartin led St. Clair County deputies on a chase in the Northeast part of the county after he was advised of a Federal probation revocation warrant. The vehicle was pursued on several roads into Henry County and back to St. Clair County. Sartin narrowly missed striking an oncoming vehicle at one point.

When Sartin finally stopped at his residence, he got out of the vehicle and a plastic bag containing a crystalline substance was located. Sartin was taken into custody on the Federal warrant. The substance was sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory and tested positive for methamphetamine. A court date of Aug. 7 was given on the charges.
