Weather Update: Hazardous Heat Friday and Saturday

Time to begin preparations for a couple days of dangerous heat and humidity. We've been pretty spoiled with a rather "cool" start to the summer so some of us may not be totally acclimated to what we get in a "normal" summer. We have a Heat Advisory for the KC Metro Friday afternoon through early Saturday evening. There's a good chance we'll be expanding the advisory to other locations. More on that later today.

If you're planning on being out in this searing heat tomorrow and Saturday it's a good idea to start hydrating TODAY. That means drinking a ton (not literally of course or your kidneys will not be happy campers) of water throughout the day. That'll allow your body to better cope when the heat attacks your body's AC. With high school sports like football and soccer plus band activities getting into full swing that means getting the kiddos to be hitting the water full bore as well. And don't forget our other "kids".....if your pets will be outdoors ensure they have plenty of fresh water too. I'm sure I'm leaving out other groups but you get the point by now.
