Freedom House is hiring a Senior Fellow for Latin America

For the last five years I have been involved in writing Freedom House's Freedom in the World reports for various Central American countries. It's possible that I'll be contributing once again this year but I haven't heard anything yet. While sometimes frustrating, it has been a really worthwhile experience.

If you are interested, Freedom House is now hiring a Senior Fellow for Latin America. The fellow is a new position created to support Freedom House's research and advocacy efforts in Latin America. They are looking for someone who can serve as a well-informed and dynamic contact for the media while also having a strong interest in assisting in the production of their reports.

Here is the official position summary:
The Senior Fellow for Latin America will serve as the regional editor for the annual publications Freedom in the World and Freedom of the Press, produce original analysis on Latin America democracy and human rights issues, and advocate on these issues to policymakers and in the media. This is a new position designed both to enhance in-house regional expertise for Freedom House’s flagship publications and to increase the contributions and profile of Freedom House in policy and media discussions on Latin America. The Senior Fellow will be based in New York (preferably) or Washington, DC. S/he will report to the Vice President for Analysis and conduct advocacy in close coordination with the Director of Latin America Programs.
It looks like a terrific position. You can check here for additional details.
