Charges reduced in Eldorado Springs man accused of killing his grandparents
Charges against an El Dorado Springs teen, who is accused of killing his grandparents, have been reduced. Vernon County Prosecutor Brandi McInroy has reduced the first degree murder charges 18 year old Logan Ellison, of El Dorado Springs, is facing in the fatal shooting of his grandparents. Prosecutor McInroy filed amended charges Wednesday, before Ellison's preliminary hearing in Vernon County Circuit Court, reducing charges to second degree murder.
Ellison chose to waive the preliminary hearing on all five counts he is facing, including two counts of armed criminal action, and a single county of first degree robbery. Associate Circuit Judge Neal Quitno set the defendant's arraignment in a trial division of the court for Tuesday, August 25th.
Ellison was 17 years old in October of last year, when he allegedly shot his grandparents, 76 year old Herman Ellison and 77 year old Rosie Ellison, in their home in Eastern Vernon County, near the Cedar County line. Ellison remains in custody at the Vernon County Jail, with bond set at $2 million.
